J. Crew June 2010...Things I'm A Little "Crew"zy Over

Many of the JCA's did not seem overwhelmingly enthused about the J. Crew June catalog release.  I thought it was quite etherial.  I love photography so was really inspired by the use of shadows throughout and the cool undertones.  With that, there were a couple standout items in my mind.  I loved the Wildflower swim collection.  I am not sure I would wear the ruffle bottom, but I loved the cut and the color is beautiful.

I also thought the Oaktweed Caswell jacket was lovely.  I tend to gravitate toward the Collection pieces in general because they are often very unique looking.  And I thought the nubby look was a cool modern play on a summer jacket.

The belts really popped for me as well.  When I was in the B&M last week the Elastic blossoms belt (see page 70) caught my eye and in the catalog I thought the braided fabric belts looked adorable as they were styled around shirts.

My two favorite pencil skirts include the wildcat ombre and the Cantebury bells.  I am also still loving all the chunky jewelry, but cannot envision myself layering it up at the swim club or ocean for that matter.  I thought the Effie scarf dress was a major bomb and will not even justify it with a pic.  You know what I am talking about, right?  It is like scarves gone wrong...yuck.
I love all the linen silk-pocket cardigan.  I bought one in the dusty orchid and am pretty sure I will pick it up in smoke.  I do like it layered over a suit...but would be equally lovely on a summer night over skirt/tee and/or dress.

All in all, I thought is was lovely.  And the wedding boutique, stunning.  If I could do it over again am pretty sure I would have picked one of these dresses.

And what are your most favorite pieces, and worst?

J. Crew's Dotsalota!

Every now and then, I get my hands on a lovely J. Crew Collection piece and I just adore how unique they are.  I stopped at the B&M today and could not pass on the Dotsalota chiffon cami which by the way is down to $79.99.  And while I am pretty sure it will make it to an additional discount, I just couldn't resist.  It is ultra-feminine.  It is cut beautifully and fully lined, so is beautiful alone or under suit.  I rarely have an "I can wait one more markdown moment" and this blouse was no exception.

Talbot's...Spring Beauties on Sale

I have posted previously that I have fallen in love with Talbot's again.  Their Spring 2010 line proved to be classic Talbot's but so fresh and pretty, really a breath of fresh air.  Some of those items are creeping into the Sale area including two of my favorite dresses (Rose print sateen dress and the Tweed sheath in sweet pea).

But shop fast, because these darlings always go fast.  I still have many Talbot's classics in my closet because they are impeccably made with attention to the most important details.

I also saw (although only in L/XL) that the flyaway cable cardigan is "uber-marked down in their Outlet Sale area.  LEC makes one similarly, but this one is a little bit nicer and at $38.99, how can you go wrong!

So check it out and share some of your favorite Talbot's pieces (Sale or not).  I am really looking forward to seeing what will emerge for their Fall line.

Need A Little Spunk...

I must admit, I have lost my spunk of recent.  Working, working, no time for light and lovely blogging.  Hence, the polka-dotted background and my new J. Crew Bryant suede platform peeps which I bought in antique lilac easily crossing with pink and lavender wardrobes.  And how appropriate with the lilacs blooming. The fleeting lovelies are on sale which I snagged at last Spring sale + 20%.

I also fell in love with JC's Parlour hobo.  If something could feel like butter, this bag would be it.  I have never felt something so soft and the roominess is AMAZING!  In bronzed beige, it definitely goes from casual to chic and work week to weekend.  I love it.  I am almost afraid to wear it too much...so lovely.

I am still eyeing the flutter flower clutch in sheer lilac.  I don't have any idea where or when I would use this, but I love looking at it.  There is a common theme here, Spring, lilac, little pops of color...

So am thinking need or necessity.  Neither, but oh how it lifts the spirits.  I love Spring.  I love J. Crew Spring.  What are your favorites and what are you waiting to go on sale.

Spring. Shop. Spring.
