A Chic Peek...Talbot's Fall 2010 Look Book is Here!

I am in love! Many posts ago I had said that I fell in love with Talbots again.  Their Spring line was beautiful, modern and fresh.  The Fall 2010 Look Book is up. I love every single page.  This has reenergized me from my looming disappointment in some of my other favs (eh, hum...you know who).  The rich colors are amazing backed up by classic Talbots with an edge.  I love that they have stayed true to classic with some pretty amazing details from fur collars to some really stunning jewelry pieces and the SHOES!  I can see myself in every single one of these outfits and I have not said that about any of my favorite retailers for a very long time.  Even the muted greys on tonal with fur accents pop off the page with beautiful textures.

The styling is amazing.  So there it is...I'm in love and never thought I would yearn for September so soon.  I hope that J. Crew does not veer on the edge of eccentric and off course because I may have to depart for awhile.  I am anxious to see if they return to some of their own classic roots.  Let me know your thoughts on Talbot's Look Book...happy viewing! Happy Early Fall!

Off to New York...

There is a certain feeling I get when I am off to New York whether work or playtime.  There is an energy and buzz, but I always feel like I want to take some of my favorite items which are true staples to my wardrobe.  I love classic pieces which always look fabulous for a trip and pulled some of them together for my Polyvore set this week (CrewCat).  I recently bought J. Crew's Studio blazer at the B&M marked down to $79.99!  It is one of the softest jackets I have ever worn and perfect with jeans or to the office.

Doing A Double Take...J. Crew or Merona Shorts?

I just a fantastic pair of Merona's short - blue print (above right).  They look incredibly similar to J. Crew's starfish cinema short (above left).  I like the fact that the Merona's have a 5" inseam verses 4" on the JC short.  Overall, the Merona short is more flattering in my opinion and let's face it - at $10 online through Target sure beats JC's $59.99 for the starfish version.  Merona rocks and there are some really lovely summer options - dresses, skirts, cardis...more to come!

Some More Items I'm A Little "Crewzy" Over...

I don't think this little wicker beauty is online through J. Crew yet, but I picked it up at the B&M about two weeks ago and I love, love!  It was a great pack-a-long for a recent business trip to New York.  At $55, it was a great little buy and summery chic.

I have to say, I was not entirely sure that this Saturday twist dress would be entirely appropriate for a casual chic dinner.   However, I paired with my rosebud metallic capri sandals and a shimmery lavender cardi from Ann Taylor and was approached with many compliments!  The dress is very flattering.  It can go from dinner to beach and I love the color (Moroccan spice).

I think 3/4 of my NY trip's wardrobe was J. Crew this week.  I also brought a cashmere tee and the larkspur cardi which both went beautifully with white pants.

Aahh...so I have reverted to some recent oldies, but goodies with the exception of the clutch.  Any new items you are raving about?  I have been on the road so have not had time to browse any new adds for JC.
