All About Cashmere...
I am not sure if I need more cashmere, but a girl could quickly fall in love with the rush of Fall colors! I have been lured in again and love J.Crew's bright plum color which is a poppin' pinkish purple as I highlighted in my weekend Polyvore. I also refreshed my wardrobe with a new J. Crew cashmere Cody cardigan in black. I live in this sweater starting early September until the following Spring. It is totally worth the investment. Other favorite colors for this sweater include autumn pumpkin, agate blue, heather cobblestone and bronzed olive. These sweaters are a treat. And for a little twist, I love JC's new cashmere marabou is rose dust (shown in my Polyvore and right for detail). I think the feather adds a unique detail and can see this paired with a black pencil skirt or dress jeans with lots of layered jewelry for a fun night out.
I am a loyal J. Crew cashmere shopper. The colors are fabulous. And one last note, the The Laundress New York for J. Crew Cashmere Spray is the best for freshening cashmere and frankly a great freshener for your entire wardrobe. It smells amazing and saves me from over dry-cleaning.
Do you have any favorite cashmere finds either J. Crew or other?

Land's End Canvas - Fall Begins...

I also love the open neck sweater sweatshirt in same colors as the cardigan except for natural. The women's suede snap tote is a lovely version of their canvas offering. I love the arctic gray for Fall.

Any other items catch your eyes? It is great to see some pretty Fall items trickling in. I am ready for a Fall cardigan and some new colors for sure.

Vogue August 2010...J. Crew Mentions!

And then further into the issue is an article entitled "Cyclical Nature" under the Steal of the Month by Norman Jean Roy who discusses the "Old, as in the fifties full skirt is new again..." and a beautiful 21-year old LA based actress Riley Keough. She is beautifully styled in pieces from this era including a gorgeous wine colored J. Crew cardigan on page 222.

I just loved how in both articles different generations of women were represented all sharing pieces that have spanned different eras of clothing from the 50's to today, yet all iconic and classic. It was great to see J. Crew as part of the styling by choice of the women and in the second article to represent a most "glamorous" period. That is the beauty of J. Crew too in that it has been a classic wardrobe staple for so many of us and can be completely transcended. What are your thoughts on the article and do you love the styling in the "Cyclical Nature" article?

Sweet & (J. Crew) Wild!
Thanks to abiggercloset I took the plunge and bought the http://wwwwildcat ombre' pencil skirt. I paired it with the merino popover tunic in blossom. I love, love the outfit. But I have to say, my purchase of the gabby hobo in pale lilac pulled this set together. It has a buttery soft leather and being a big purse gal, this one fits the bill! It is incredible roomy with lots of compartments.
I got so many compliments on these items. The colors are beautiful and will go right into Fall. The merino popover is longer which I love because it hits at the hip. I seriously would love to buy all of the colors available for this sweater. It is one of those staples that can be cinched with a belt, worn loosely with jeans or under skirt as I did.
My Sweet & Wild polyvore set features some of these items as well.

White Heat

Talbot's shawl collar cardigan was a must. The weight was perfect and as always, presents a classic piece. The draping is lovely.
Ann Taylor's picot hem tiered skirt is actually a newer item but I couldn't resist ($78). It is very light weight, but with a beautiful sheen to it (upper right mini pic). This is a perfect staple for work through the end of summer.
I also picked up a cotton tank and white studded belt both from J. Crew. I like the studding that they have added to bags, belts...gives a clean modern feel to accessories. Let's just hope this does not transition to every collection.
You can check out my Polyvore favorites this week, some of which I have described above. Summer is still here despite my recent excitement of the Fall collections. I think I will stay awhile longer...!
