The World of Nars - Artistry Sessions

Click here:  A Radiant Natural Glow
As much as I love beauty products...I still like to see how to use them for better application and to pick up tricks of the trade. Francois Nars has now added films to answer my wishes with his beautiful products.  I guarantee you can feel "model-ready" after a couple of lessons.

Chantilly
Nars has added "How to Films" which make it so, so easy for the perfect look.  And of course for product hunters like me, Nars has linked the products used in the sessions so you can really get the same effects.

Getting the foundation right is essential.  In my mind, all the makeup in the world is wasted without a clean palette and products to moisturize and even out the skin.  I like to start with the Pore Refining Primer and the Smudge Proof Eyeshadow B.  Nars Concealer (new) in Chantilly is another product that I just love because it not only hides imperfections but nourishes the skin as well with Vitamin E.  The film session I attached is about getting that natural glow.  I think it is really important to let your beautiful skin shine through.  It doesn't mean you have to use a tinted foundation in fact, I have similar results with a regular foundation.  It is all about building and layering.  It is not necessary to cover your face from top to bottom with the product.  Use your sponge to dab and work though in areas such as your t-zone, cheeks, a little on the chin...it can go a long way.

Runway Makeup from 3.1 Phillip Lim, Spring 2012
Gaiety
I also love the "Get the Looks" area on the site so from their product models to favorite runway looks from designers, you can get the product that was used in shoots or backstage.  I love the fresh look used by 3.1 Phillip Lim for Spring 2012.  When you click-thru you can see the process on complexion/product all the way through to the makeup application used.  It is super simple and ultra gorgeous.  I love the blush used in this particular look called "Gaiety which is described as "bright candy pink", but really goes on with a light and lovely sheen as shown left on the model.  The Illuminator used is in Copacabana and you can use it with subtle touch points on the cheekbones, forehead, and the nose which really make this a fresh look.  I also added his "Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Abbey Road to this look.  The liner touts 12-hour wear with no smearing or caking, but what I love the most is the velvety color that glides like a dream.  There is no dragging or pull from the pencil.  This color in particular works really well with the look above.  The great thing about any of these looks is that you can really define your look and layer or take out steps to your choosing and to best match your color & style.

Abbey Road
So bring one of Nars fabulous artists right into your home for a lesson or two!  It is just like being there and you can customize for your best features.  Also, the Spring and Summer Collections are featured, so check out the beautiful product additions.

Cheers.

  2. Elisa (SwellNY)! That is fantastic...I really think the videos were a great addition to an already fabulous site. Sometimes that sort of addition can be a flop but I obviously thought they were well done, so kudos to you all!

    Thank you for your note!
